About BCS - Curriculum

The educational program design of BCS is research-based, as well as, inclusive of two main pedagogical styles.  BCS utilizes “traditional teacher-directed” and “student-centered” or “project-based” approaches to instruction.

The program has been created to raise achievement levels by preparing students with both basic and enriched skills in Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.  In addition, students are expected to experience and learn a cultural vocabulary in Music, Art and Dance.  Students are also taught citizenry through a daily “Harambee” which is an opportunity for teachers and students to create a positive community and to deal with problem-solving and conflict resolution.
